A nibble here, a nibble there.

“If I don’t write it down it doesn’t have calories.”

“It’s just one bite, it won’t hurt anything.”

Ever think of these phrases?  We tend to say these phrases more this time of year because we are surrounded by food wherever we go.   The holiday season is upon us, so it is time for more cookies, candy, pie, eggnog, and holiday parties.  Take a moment to watch the following power point to see how we could easily gain 5 pounds or more between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.  The next time you pick up that cookie or take a swig of eggnog, think before you eat! How many calories does this have in it?  It doesn’t mean you can’t have a tiny taste here and there.  Don’t let the tiny tastes take over your diet.  The tiny tastes can easily add up to entire meal or more over the course of the day, which can turn into a lot weight you’ll be trying to lose next year.
