An EXCELLENT Experience at Bergan!

On January 3 my son came into Pediatric Express next to ER at Bergan Mercy in horrible pain.  Upon arrival, we were very unsure what was wrong with him. After only a 5 minute wait, we were seen and taken into a room. After a few tests, we were told his appendix was enlarged and needed to be removed immediately.  They called in the surgeon Dr. Imbrock at that time.  He was there in less than 20 minutes.  My son was starting to get very nervous and scared at the … Continue reading

Bergan Mercy’s Outstanding Customer Service

I cannot begin to tell you how pleased we have been with the services provided to our son, daughter-in-law and new grandson during their recent stay at Bergan Mercy Medical Center. The customer service offered within the Labor/Delivery and the NICU was beyond description.  I must specifically thank Traci (Delivery/Labor) and Rose, Deanna and Erin in the NICU.  They were all fabulous in their attentive care to Brayden and Erin (our daughter-in-law).  I even need to mention Kallie and Robin for their incredibly friendly and helpful food service.  Even beyond … Continue reading

Christmas Blessings

It is important to realize that Roger has never had surgery before. As a currently employed RN, I believe I am a good evaluator of good care. At Exempla we strive for Best in Nation service. I will say, that what we experienced at Bergen Mercy was absolutely awesome. The RNs on the cardiac unit, Jen L, Brenlie, Keri P, Ali, … Continue reading

Kudos to the Bergan Mercy Chest Pain Center

My brother went to a non-Alegent emergency room on Monday with chest pain and was coughing up blood. He was evaluated with a chest X-ray and EKG and was sent home with a diagnosis of pleurisy and bronchitis and was given treatment for these conditions. That night he woke with severe pains in his chest.  Thinking he had already been to have this evaluated and that the treatment just hadn’t kicked in yet, he waited until morning and then called his primary physician.  His physician instructed him to go back … Continue reading

Caring for Patients with “The Father’s Touch”

My father was recently hospitalized and I had the chance to spend a good deal of time at Bergan Mercy Hospital in my effort to provide care and assistance to him as he recovered from surgery to remove a malignant tumor in his right lung.  I would offer that I have had multiple opportunities to compare healthcare quality as my husband has a heart condition that has on several occasions required both cardiac and intensive care.  As a result, I have spent time in a variety of hospitals in Arizona … Continue reading
